Uncomfortable symptoms of food intolerance/allergy?

One in four people suffer uncomfortable symptoms from food intolerances or allergies – a significant and inescapable problem caused by certain environmental issues and sometimes preservatives contained within the food itself.

It can sometimes be difficult to pinpoint what foods are causing your uncomfortable symptoms. or you may simply want confirmation of a suspected intolerance or allergy. Living Room Health offers a simple finger prick test with no waiting list and fast results – so you can get to the root of what’s causing your discomfort immediately.

Allergies

An allergy is when your body has a reaction to a particular food, substance or environmental factor. An allergic reaction takes place when the body’s immune system is triggered by a harmless substance such as pollen, certain foods or dust particles, for example.

What is happening in this situation is that your immune system has mistaken a normally harmless substance for a dangerous invader. As a result, your immune system produces antibodies that then remain on the alert for that particular allergen. So if and when you’re exposed to the same allergen again, those antibodies can release immune system chemicals – such as histamine – that can cause allergy symptoms.

Food intolerances

A food intolerance is when your body has difficulty digesting certain foods, and has an unpleasant physical reaction to them as a result. This reaction can cause symptoms like bloating and stomach pain, which usually occur a few hours after eating the food.

The Process

We have endeavoured to make the process as straight forward and efficient as possible.
